The company has also earned recognition for its innovation and workplace culture, receiving the "Best in STEM" award and being named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces in 2025.
Peter Piper Pizza complements this portfolio by offering a neighborhood pizzeria experience that blends quality food with engaging entertainment. Its motto, "The Fun is Baked In!", reflects its dedication to bringing families and communities together through fun activities that promote physical wellness and develop motor skills in children. Collectively, CEC Entertainment and its franchisees manage nearly 600 Chuck E. Cheese locations and over 120 Peter Piper Pizza venues across 45 states and 18 countries, fostering a diverse and inclusive culture that celebrates fun and play as a way to unite families.
The role of Opening Coordinator is pivotal within this dynamic company. Known internally as the "show before the show," this position is responsible for ensuring that everything is impeccably prepared before guests arrive. From games and food to prizes and party setups, the Opening Coordinator guarantees that the environment meets company standards for quality, cleanliness, and safety. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop leadership skills in a thriving entertainment and food service setting.
The Opening Coordinator must make daily operational decisions, manage resources effectively, and supervise Cast Members to maintain a smooth and profitable shift. This includes understanding and applying cost control procedures, conducting inventory checks, monitoring labor management, and ensuring secure cash handling practices. Additionally, the role requires coordinating birthday parties by setting up appropriate personnel and evaluating service through birthday surveys.
CEC Entertainment values employees who demonstrate coaching abilities, effective communication, composure, resourcefulness, and strong time and priority management skills. The position offers commission potential on sales of Membership and Fun Pass products, with payouts made bi-weekly. Furthermore, Chuck E. Cheese supports employees’ financial well-being through a "Work Today, Get Paid Tomorrow" program, allowing immediate access to earned wages.
Candidates for the Opening Coordinator role should be prepared for a physically active work environment that involves lifting objects up to 50 pounds and working amidst flashing lights, moving parts, and varied noise levels. Adaptability to different temperature conditions and the capacity to stand, bend, kneel, and walk during shifts are essential. Safety and health are paramount at Chuck E. Cheese, which maintains rigorous sanitation and operational standards that exceed local requirements.
CEC Entertainment is committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring an equitable work environment for all employees regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, veteran status, or other protected characteristics. The company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan to eligible U.S. employees. Additionally, job training and career growth opportunities are integral to the employment experience at Chuck E. Cheese, making it a rewarding workplace for those passionate about delivering fun and quality family entertainment.
