Job Description
DigiStream Investigations is a rapidly growing national private investigation firm committed to delivering high-quality investigative services across the United States. Specializing in investigating potentially fraudulent Worker's Compensation and Liability claims, DigiStream stands out by providing full benefits, company-provided vehicles, and paid travel, distinguishing itself from many other private investigation companies. With over 25 years of experience and a professional, hands-on training program, DigiStream offers an exciting and dynamic career path for individuals with an adventurous spirit and a passion for uncovering truth. The firm’s culture promotes team collaboration through quarterly team-building events and offers a clear Investigator Promotion Track, providing opportunities for professional growth within the company.
This role is based in the Greater Portland region of Oregon and requires the candidate to reside within the state. The position is full-time and involves 40-55 hours of work per week, averaging 10-11 hours per day depending on travel distance to cases and back home. DigiStream values autonomy and purpose in this career path, offering a position far beyond a typical desk job. Private Investigators at DigiStream engage in covert investigations that include monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects in various day-to-day activities, ranging from grocery shopping to sports games. The job combines excitement, travel, and strategic planning to gather definitive evidence essential for clients’ legal defenses.
Starting at $20.00 per hour for entry-level investigators, the compensation reflects the inclusion of paid commute and frequent overtime, bringing average annual earnings between $55,000 and $60,000. Benefits include health, dental, vision, and life insurance, alongside a 401(k) retirement plan with a 4% company match. The role also provides all necessary equipment, including a surveillance vehicle, video camera, laptop, and fuel and maintenance cards, ensuring investigators have the tools needed to perform effectively. The company's commitment to employee well-being extends through offering paid travel to and from assignments, cell phone bill reimbursement, and fuel cards.
A day in the life of a DigiStream Private Investigator is multifaceted, involving pre-surveillance planning, maintaining cover while vehicle and foot pursuing subjects, and detailed reporting on observations and captured evidence. Communication with the team leader is crucial to coordinate positions and tactics throughout cases. DigiStream offers a gateway to several career opportunities post-experience, including roles in law enforcement, legal support, security, corporate investigations, and investigative journalism. The company fosters a culture of growth, excitement, and continuous learning in a profession that offers diversity in daily activities, purpose in protecting client interests, and the rewards of contributing to justice.
