Job Description
DigiStream Investigations is a rapidly expanding national private investigation firm renowned for its dedication to uncovering the truth and providing clients with crucial, evidence-based information. Operating across the United States, DigiStream specializes in investigations focused primarily on fraudulent Worker's Compensation and Liability claims. The company prides itself on its professional, cutting-edge approach and has built a strong reputation by developing hands-on training programs over the last 25 years. With a commitment to quality, authenticity, and client satisfaction, DigiStream has established itself as a trusted resource in the private investigation industry.
This particular opportunity is for a Private Investigator role based in the Greater Portland region of Oregon. This is a full-time, dynamic position that goes far beyond a typical desk job, offering a career filled with excitement, travel, independence, and purpose. The position is ideal for individuals who possess a curious and adventurous spirit and who are motivated to support clients by gathering compelling evidence through covert surveillance and investigative strategies. The role demands autonomy and a willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, with daily shifts averaging 10 to 11 hours, and requires the applicant to reside in Oregon.
Private Investigators at DigiStream conduct covert surveillance of subjects to detect fraudulent activities related to Worker's Compensation and Liability insurance claims. This involves monitoring, following, and videotaping subjects during their routine activities, such as shopping or attending sporting events. Investigators craft surveillance plans, maintain cover through vehicle and foot pursuits, and gather detailed documentation and video evidence to support their findings. Communication with team leaders about surveillance tactics and updates is essential to ensuring successful operations.
One of the unique features of this position is the company’s support structure — investigators are provided with a late-model company vehicle, including a Toyota Highlander or Honda Odyssey, along with equipment such as video cameras, laptops, tripods, and fuel and maintenance cards. Staff also benefit from paid travel time to and from assignments, enhancing overall compensation beyond the base salary. The starting hourly pay rate is $20.00, with additional frequent overtime opportunities, and the compensation typically reaches an annual range of $55,000 to $60,000 due to paid commute and overtime.
The benefit package is comprehensive and competitive, including health, dental, vision, and life insurance along with a 401(k) retirement plan featuring a 4% company match. Additional perks include cell phone bill reimbursements, employee assistance programs, paid training, and opportunities for career advancement through DigiStream's Investigator Promotion Track. Quarterly team-building events foster camaraderie among team members, creating a supportive and collaborative work environment.
Moreover, this role serves as an excellent entry point into the investigations, security, and law enforcement fields. Skills acquired in this position can pave the way for career opportunities within the FBI, ATF, US Border Patrol, state crime labs, legal professions, corporate security, or investigative journalism. This career offers an extraordinary blend of challenge and growth potential, making it ideal for individuals looking to build a meaningful and impactful career in investigative work.
