The position available is for an Entry-Level Field Technician to join Intertek’s Building and Construction team in Jefferson, Louisiana. This team is part of Intertek’s Building and Construction division, which consists of industry-leading brands specializing in architecture, engineering, and construction disciplines. They focus on delivering the most innovative product and project solutions, supporting clients throughout the construction lifecycle with testing, inspection, and consulting services. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record is required
- Excellent communication skills and handwriting
- Must be able to work off shift and overtime a needed
- Experience with hand tools and power tools
- Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
- Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights
- Applicants must reside in and be able to legally work in the United States
- Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently
- occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience in the construction industry preferred
- Experience in construction materials testing preferred
- Excellent communication skills and handwriting
- Ability to work off shift and overtime as needed
- Experience with hand tools and power tools
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Job Duties
- Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: soil, concrete, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
- Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
- Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
- Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
