The Entry Level Driver Trainee position at Performance Foodservice is designed for individuals beginning their careers in commercial driving within the foodservice distribution industry. This role offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus under certain terms and entails delivery route shifts early in the morning from 3 am to 5 am on specified weekdays, with employees returning home daily. In this role, drivers are trained to safely and efficiently operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road (OTR) journeys, shuttle services, and overnight routes. The primary responsibility is to deliver and unload food and food-related products to a variety of customers, ensuring compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. Drivers are expected to perform vehicle inspections, secure freight properly, and maintain detailed records such as logs for hours of service, which are crucial for regulatory compliance.
