The role of AM Prep Cook at Repeal Oak Fired Steakhouse offers a dynamic and rewarding opportunity for individuals passionate about the food and beverage industry. This position involves advanced scheduling flexibility, providing employees with the ability to swap or pick up shifts easily through an intuitive app, which supports a balanced lifestyle while pursuing culinary aspirations.
As an AM Prep Cook, you will undergo training as a Culinarian, learning comprehensive cooking skills while performing essential kitchen duties. You will be expected to adhere strictly to food and beverage procedures, health department regulations, and federal guidelines to ensure food safety and quality. A key part of the role involves maintaining food cost and labor cost standards, checking ingredient freshness, and ensuring recipes and portion controls are followed accurately. You will also contribute to fostering a positive work environment, promoting cooperation and respect among team members, enhancing guest satisfaction through attention to feedback, and assisting with other duties as assigned.
This position values candidates with a basic knowledge of cooking techniques such as sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry management, and breakfast cookery. While culinary education or an apprenticeship is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this a suitable opportunity for individuals at various stages of their culinary careers. Physical stamina to stand and work at a fast pace for extended periods is essential.
