Job Description

White Lodging is a leading hospitality company that develops and operates a portfolio of award-winning, premium-brand hotels, rooftop bars, and restaurants across many of the country’s most vibrant cities. Known for their commitment to excellence and quality, White Lodging provides guests with exceptional experiences while fostering a supportive environment for their employees. The company prides itself on understanding that hospitality is not just a service but a way to make people feel valued and appreciated. Their locations, such as the JW Marriott Austin, combine luxury with innovation, creating unique environments where genuine guest experiences come first. Employees at White Lodging enjoy a culture focused on growth, respect, and work-life balance, enabling them to bring their best to every interaction.

The role of Culinarian at JW Marriott Austin offers an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about the culinary arts. This position is designed for those eager to learn and grow within the food and beverage industry, providing advanced scheduling flexibility and the ability to swap or pick up shifts through a convenient mobile app. A Culinarian trainee at White Lodging will learn the comprehensive duties of a cook, mastering food preparation techniques and adhering to rigorous safety and quality standards. The role involves understanding and applying company policies, health regulations, and federal guidelines while maintaining meticulous attention to food freshness, portion control, and cost management. Beyond technical skills, the position encourages fostering a positive and cooperative work environment, emphasizing teamwork and respect among colleagues.

This full-time role allows aspiring culinarians to gain hands-on experience across various cooking methods such as sautéing, broiling, frying, roasting, butchery, garde manger, pantry, and breakfast cookery. While culinary education or apprenticeship programs are preferred, they are not mandatory, making this an accessible position for those looking to enter the culinary field. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment, standing and moving for extended periods, is essential to succeed in this role.

White Lodging offers a comprehensive benefits package starting from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid parental leave, and an employee assistance program. Additional perks include a daily pay option, 401(k) with company match, vacation and paid time off with rollover, leadership development programs, tuition reimbursement, and generous discounts on hotel stays, dining, and entertainment. The company also emphasizes diversity and inclusion, ensuring a welcoming workplace for all associates with many opportunities for advancement across multiple hotel properties within each market. This role represents not only a career starting point but also a pathway to long-term professional growth in the hospitality industry.
