Job Description
Shamrock Foods Company is a well-established, privately-held, family-owned and operated food service company that has been a pioneering force in the food industry since its inception in Arizona in 1922. This Forbes 500 company prioritizes its people above all—valuing associates, customers, and the families they serve across the nation. Shamrock Foods Company operates with a mission rooted deeply in its founding family's motto to "treat associates like family and customers like friends," which reflects its commitment to creating a supportive and welcoming workplace. Known for its innovation, integrity, and dedication to quality, Shamrock Foods continues to extend its legacy by focusing on growth opportunities and comprehensive benefits to ensure the wellbeing and success of its associates.
The position of Truck Driver at Shamrock Foods Company is a vital role responsible for safely and efficiently transporting products across predetermined routes. This full-time employment opportunity demands the safe operation of tractor-trailers primarily within a specific geographic territory, typically completed within a shift. The driver is tasked with loading and unloading a variety of products, including perishable foods, frozen items, tabletop goods, and special equipment, ensuring timely delivery while maintaining the quality and integrity of the merchandise.
Beyond driving, the Truck Driver acts as a brand representative, informing customers about new products and services, distributing sales promotion materials, and addressing any customer complaints with professionalism and a customer-centered approach. The role requires a thorough understanding and strict compliance with company policies as well as Department of Transportation regulations to uphold safety and legal standards on the road. Drivers are expected to record daily sales and delivery information accurately, obtain customer signatures upon delivery or pickup, and assist with other tasks as needed to support business objectives.
The job involves physical demands such as standing and walking regularly, reaching with hands and arms, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and occasionally crawling. Drivers must be capable of lifting and moving heavy objects, sometimes up to 100 pounds. Furthermore, visual acuity including close and distance vision, color and peripheral awareness, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus is essential for safe driving and product handling.
Shamrock Foods Company highly values reliability, a strong work ethic, and the flexibility to meet the demands of overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays. This role is well-suited for individuals possessing a Commercial Driver’s License with a proven track record of safe driving and a minimum of one year of experience operating tractor-trailers or performing route delivery duties. The company also emphasizes diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer, promoting an inclusive workplace where all qualified applicants are considered without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or other legally protected statuses.
Working at Shamrock Foods provides employees access to an attractive benefits package including company-paid health insurance, dental coverage, 401(k) savings plan, profit sharing, paid time off, educational opportunities, and wellness programs. By joining Shamrock Foods Company as a Truck Driver, associates become part of a company that values not only their professional contributions but their overall health and personal growth, helping them foster a long and rewarding career within a supportive community.
