Job Description

Walt Disney World Resort, one of the most iconic and beloved entertainment destinations globally, is home to thrilling live shows, parades, and spectacular events that enchant millions of visitors annually. Known for its world-class entertainment, innovation, and commitment to guest satisfaction, the Resort offers a dynamic and immersive experience unlike any other. As part of The Walt Disney Company, it fosters a collaborative and diverse work environment centered around creativity, excellence, and professionalism. The team behind these spectacular performances includes skilled professionals who help bring the magic to life through technical expertise, creative solutions, and teamwork.

The role of Entertainment Stage Technician at Walt Disney World Resort places you at the heart of these live productions, where you will have the opportunity to witness firsthand the joy and wonder experienced by Guests as they are transported through magical stories and captivating entertainment. This full-time position offers a competitive pay rate of $23.00 per hour in Florida, with select benefits such as medical and financial options, making it a rewarding career choice for those passionate about entertainment technology.

As an Entertainment Stage Technician, you will be responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining a wide variety of technical equipment that supports dozens of live shows and special events across the Parks and Resorts every day. This includes lighting, audio, props, video, pyrotechnics, automation, and rigging systems. The role demands a high degree of technical skill and specialization, requiring you to troubleshoot advanced technology, repair equipment, and ensure seamless operation of complex show elements. Candidates with experience in one or more specific disciplines—audio, lighting, video, rigging, props and puppets, warehouse operations, show control/automation, and pyrotechnics/special effects—will find opportunities to apply their expertise in a fast-paced, creative environment.

The position requires strong teamwork, adaptability, and a positive professional demeanor since live entertainment is a collaborative effort involving various departments and roles. Physical stamina is crucial due to the demands of lifting up to 50 pounds, frequent climbing, standing for extended periods, and working outdoors in various weather conditions. You will need to be technology savvy, with a solid understanding of electrical systems, data signal flow, and the ability to interpret theatrical documentation. Additionally, some roles require a valid U.S. driver’s license, the ability to pass background checks, and certifications such as WDW pyrotechnic credentials.

This opportunity is ideal for individuals who are eager to grow their careers within the entertainment industry, enjoy working in a dynamic setting filled with creativity and innovation, and are committed to delivering unforgettable experiences to guests worldwide. By joining Walt Disney World Resort as an Entertainment Stage Technician, you'll be part of a legacy of storytelling and technical excellence that continues to set the standard for live entertainment across the globe.
