The Entertainment & Events Coordinator role at DSRT SURF is a full-time, exempt salaried position with an annual compensation range of $71,500 to $75,000 based on experience and qualifications. This position is fully on-site in Palm Desert, California, and requires the coordinator to be present during operational needs, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. Responsibilities center around owning the full entertainment lifecycle, from talent sourcing and booking to event execution and vendor management. This coordinator is pivotal in curating the sound and energy of DSRT SURF by hiring and managing House DJs, bands, and other performers, ensuring every event aligns with the brand's vibe and operational standards.

The role involves active collaboration with multiple departments such as Sales, Food & Beverage, Facilities, and Guest Experience to support private and corporate events, brand activations, and regular programming. The coordinator handles logistics like setting up staging, lighting, and sound equipment while ensuring compliance with contracts and independent contractor agreements. They also troubleshoot issues on event days and maintain positive relationships with talent and vendors. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in booking and managing live entertainment within hospitality or nightlife environments, excellent negotiation skills, and familiarity with event management software like Tripleseat. The position demands flexibility, high energy, and a natural ability to connect with entertainers and clients alike, contributing to the overall vibrancy and success of DSRT SURF's entertainment offerings.

Job Requirements

  • experience booking or managing DJs, bands, or live entertainment in a hospitality, nightlife, or event setting

Job Duties

  • source, audition, and hire DJs, bands, and performers for regular programming and special events
  • manage hiring, scheduling, and performance of the House DJ and any recurring entertainment talent
  • work with Operations to negotiate rates, contracts, and availability with entertainment vendors and independent contractors
  • coordinate event setups, including staging, sound, lighting, and equipment needs
  • plan and manage the calendar of entertainment and event programming across the property
  • support Sales, F&B, Facilities, and Guest Experience teams to execute private events, corporate bookings, and brand activations
  • serve as the main point of contact for performers, vendors, and clients before and during events
  • conduct final walkthroughs and confirm setup matches the plan
  • troubleshoot day-of issues with entertainment, equipment, or logistics
  • track entertainment contracts, W-9s, and independent contractor agreements for compliance
  • support post event follow up, including invoicing and performer feedback
