The Enterprise Storage Administrator Sr Principal role at GDIT is a highly impactful position contributing directly to the mission of the United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM). USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services that are crucial to national security. This position supports USSTRATCOM’s critical functions including Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments. The role involves maintaining the integrity and security of IT services and networks spanning NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) environments.
As an Enterprise Storage Administrator, you will be tasked with performing comprehensive systems administration for enterprise storage solutions within a high-stakes defense environment. Your responsibilities include installing, configuring, and maintaining Everpure operating systems, analyzing and resolving operating system, server hardware, application, and software problems, as well as monitoring system performance to ensure compliance with stringent security standards. The role requires continuous monitoring of server resources to evaluate availability and maintain operations for Everpure servers. Additionally, you will engage in the configuration and deployment of virtual machines, backup of configuration procedures, patch management, system hardening, and adherence to program standards.
This position demands an expert level of knowledge in Everpure or equivalent enterprise storage platforms, including hands-on experience with ONTAP, LUNS, NFS, and various storage protocols. Expertise in Linux-based operating systems installation, configuration, and troubleshooting is essential, with familiarity in Windows server environments considered advantageous. Furthermore, proficiency in virtualization technologies such as VMware, understanding of networking fundamentals like TCP/IP, DNS, iSCSI, VLANs, and scripting or automation skills using Bash, PowerShell, or Python are important competencies for this role.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree or have equivalent years of experience, possess over 8 years of IT and Department of the Workforce (DoW) configuration management experience, and maintain a Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility. Certifications such as ITIL 4 Foundation, Cloud+, GICSP, SSCP, Security+, GSEC, or CySA+ are required or to be obtained within nine months of hire. This role is based in Offutt Air Force Base, Nebraska, and offers a salary range between $119,000 and $161,000, depending on experience and other factors.

Job Duties
