Job Description
Concordia University, Nebraska, is a respected institution affiliated with The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, dedicated to fostering a strong Christian foundation in education. Rooted deeply in the belief that the Holy Scriptures are the inspired, inerrant, and infallible Word of God, Concordia University upholds these principles in all aspects of its mission. The university is committed to equipping students for lives of learning, service, and leadership within their homes, churches, and the wider world. With a focus on nurturing faith, leadership, and academic excellence, Concordia offers a vibrant and welcoming community where students, faculty, and staff work together in an environment that promotes both spiritual and intellectual development.
Concordia University is currently seeking an Enrollment Services Specialist to join their Admissions team on the main campus located in Seward, Nebraska. This part-time role, offering 20 to 25 hours per week, is an excellent opportunity for individuals who thrive in a Christian and community-focused environment. The Enrollment Services Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the Admissions Office by acting as the first point of contact for visitors and prospective students. The specialist greets guests warmly, answering questions and providing general office support including managing mail, assisting with phone inquiries, and supporting the Guest Experience Coordinator. This role demands a welcoming, organized, and professional individual who can deliver exceptional service and create a positive first impression of Concordia University.
The position involves managing student workers, known as diplomats, including their hiring, training, and daily oversight to ensure that all campus visitors receive outstanding experiences. Among the key responsibilities is preparing for guest visits by anticipating their names, backgrounds, and interests to personalize interactions and building connections through alumni or congregation associations where possible. The Enrollment Services Specialist also handles communications professionally through phone and email, manages incoming and outgoing mail, maintains the hospitality area stocked and inviting, and serves as a backup for admissions data entry processes. Moreover, the specialist is tasked with monitoring inventory levels for recruitment and office materials and placing necessary orders.
In addition, the role requires strong attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft software platforms, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. The university values candidates who demonstrate enthusiasm, integrity, kindness, and patience, all while maintaining a professional demeanor aligned with the values of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod. Working at Concordia offers the chance to be part of a mission-driven community with a supportive culture focused on student growth and faith formation, making this a fulfilling role for individuals dedicated to service within a Christian academic setting.
