Singing River Health System is a renowned healthcare institution dedicated to providing exceptional medical care and support to its community. With a strong emphasis on compassion and excellence, Singing River Health System integrates cutting-edge technology with a patient-centered approach to health services. The system includes facilities such as the Singing River Gulfport Hospital, which serves as a pivotal healthcare provider within the region. Known for its commitment to saving lives and improving health outcomes, Singing River Health System prides itself on the expertise of its staff and the quality of its services. This healthcare system offers a collaborative work environment where employees are valued and supported in their professional growth.
The Environmental Services Aide position at Singing River Gulfport Hospital plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and hygienic environment essential for patient care and infection control. This full-time daytime role, with working hours from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, requires dedication to upholding the highest environmental and infection control standards within the hospital. The aide performs various cleaning and linen services across multiple hospital areas including patient rooms, offices, and hallways to ensure a sanitized atmosphere. The job also entails assisting with linen operations, such as restocking linen carts and preparing linen packs for key hospital departments including Surgical Services, Outpatient Surgery, Emergency, Labor and Delivery, and Radiology.
In this role, the Environmental Services Aide is expected to help in the laundry and linen divisions by ensuring that linens are delivered correctly and that the proper quantity has been received. Maintaining the linen room stock and collecting linens from designated areas are part of the daily tasks. The position requires someone who is physically resilient, capable of standing for extended periods, lifting items up to 25 pounds regularly, and performing repetitive motions such as bending and stooping. The aide must also be able to work in a healthcare environment where exposure to communicable diseases, radiation, chemicals, and hazardous waste is a potential risk.
Mental acuity and strong communication skills are critical as the aide must be able to receive and give instructions clearly, demonstrate written and verbal communication abilities, and maintain emotional stability under stressful conditions. Proficiency with computer technology, including MS Outlook, and excellent customer service skills are also prerequisites for the job. The role directly reports to the Environmental Services Director and involves no supervisory responsibilities, focusing on delivering support and maintaining operational efficiency within the health system's rigorous standards.
Joining Singing River Health System as an Environmental Services Aide means aligning oneself with a healthcare leader that prioritizes community health and employee well-being. If you seek a meaningful role where teamwork, dedication, and your efforts genuinely matter in improving patient health and safety, this opportunity promises a rewarding career path with growth potential within an esteemed healthcare network.
