This job opportunity is for the position of Casual Maintenance Technician, offering an hourly rate of $27.32 and classified as a casual role with 0-19 hours per week. The Maintenance Technician plays a pivotal role in ensuring the maintenance and repair of tools, kitchen equipment, mechanical rooms, and general building systems. This position requires a hands-on approach to guest repair requests, preventive maintenance, and facility upkeep. The successful candidate will be responsive to guests and colleagues, demonstrating strong communication skills to effectively resolve maintenance issues in a timely and professional manner.

Responsibilities extend across multiple trades including air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, and general building repairs. Preventive tasks such as cleaning, lubrication, replacing light bulbs, and maintaining A/C filters are integral components of this role. In addition, the technician will troubleshoot and perform basic repairs on a wide variety of equipment, ranging from plumbing and electrical components to landscaping irrigation systems and kitchen appliances. They will also be responsible for maintaining maintenance inventories, requisitioning parts, and communicating daily activities and any issues encountered with other shifts.

Safety is paramount within this role. The technician will utilize the Lockout/Tagout system for all maintenance activities and adhere to company safety protocols, including the handling and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with OSHA and EPA standards. The role requires vigorous physical activity such as lifting, carrying, climbing ladders, and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently, with assistance for heavier items.

The position contributes to guest satisfaction by providing timely, courteous service, addressing guest concerns with professionalism and positivity, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization within maintenance areas. Candidates will work collaboratively with the housekeeping department and other teams to ensure that all rooms and facilities remain in excellent condition.
