The role of Engineering Technician based in the Augusta area is a vital position within Wood Environment & Infrastructure Solutions. This role primarily involves supporting various projects by undertaking critical calibration functions related to soil and concrete laboratory and field equipment. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for ensuring the precision and accuracy of equipment used in testing soil densities, sampling, and testing concrete in both field and laboratory environments. Additionally, they will conduct concrete reinforcing steel inspections and perform detailed analyses or calculations to verify the reliability and relevance of testing data. As part of the job, the technician will provide daily reports detailing observations and test outcomes, maintaining thorough documentation and communication with onsite project teams.

Interaction and collaboration with client representatives such as supervisors, foremen, project managers, and engineers on project sites form an essential part of this role. The ability to monitor work procedures to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations also falls under the remit of the Engineering Technician. The position requires travel within and around Augusta, typically within a two-hour radius, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to project needs.

Wood seeks candidates with previous equipment calibration experience, a minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, and preferred two or more years of related experience working on complex projects. Certifications that enhance the candidate's qualifications may include ICC soils, ACI concrete, ICC concrete reinforcing steel, ICC masonry, or NPDES Level 1A or 1B. A valid driver’s license is mandatory, reflecting the travel requirements of the position. The company values reliability, expecting technicians to arrive punctually and prepared at project sites. Job Duties
