Job Requirements
- Ability to travel to or commute between data center locations as needed
- willingness to temporarily work at alternative sites during training or until assigned facility is operational
- ability to travel over 50 miles or commute less than 50 miles to active data center sites as required
- willingness to work on a flexible schedule including shifts up to 12 hours and rotating shifts
- regular physical ability to lift and/or move up to 39 pounds independently
- ability to participate in group lifts for weights over 40 pounds
- capability to maintain balance and perform construction tasks while on ladders
- capacity to regularly perform physical activities including walking, handling, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing stairs, twisting, bending, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects
- ability to work with provided ear protection
- able to support concurrent multiple data center locations when assigned
Job Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Office products and applications
- 2+ years of electrical and mechanical experience
- ability to work flexible schedules including days, nights, and/or weekends
- experience working in data centers or mission critical facilities preferred
- associate degree or higher in a related field preferred
- experience reading and writing procedures, technical documents, and engineering drawings preferred
Job Duties
- Perform daily building rounds to monitor and record information from electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment to ensure 24/7 reliability and availability
- monitor building management systems (BMS) and electrical power management system (EPMS)
- assist in troubleshooting facility and rack-level events within internal service level agreements (SLA)
- perform rack installs and rack decommissioning within internal SLA
- perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment
- create technical documentation to support change management programs
- monitor daily work requests and manage to resolution, execute projects from conception to completion
- provide on-site support to contractors, sub-contractors, and vendors ensuring compliance with established procedures and local legislation
- work flexible shifts including up to 12-hours which may rotate and include on-call responsibilities
- support multiple data center locations as assigned
