This position is hands-on, focusing on the maintenance, operation, and troubleshooting of electrical and mechanical equipment that safeguards the continuous functionality of AWS data center facilities. These facilities incorporate complex systems such as stand-by diesel generators, three-phase electrical systems including switchgear, UPS units, PDUs, battery systems, various cooling mechanisms such as centrifugal chillers, CRAC units, cooling towers, and other mechanical components like pumps and motors.

As a Data Center Engineering Technician, you will be the first line of defense ensuring technical issues are addressed promptly to maintain uninterrupted service delivery. You will perform daily rounds inspecting electrical, mechanical, and fire/life safety equipment, monitoring building management and power management systems, and conducting preventative maintenance and repairs within defined service level agreements. The role demands technical expertise combined with the ability to execute projects from conception to completion, manage contractor activities, and adhere to strict safety and quality standards. Your work schedule may include shifts up to 12 hours which can rotate and encompass night or weekend work, depending on site operational needs.
