Committed to bringing possibilities to life through the power of beauty every day, Ulta Beauty offers more than 25,000 products from approximately 500 well-known and emerging beauty brands spanning all categories and price points, including its own private label. With an extensive footprint, each Ulta Beauty store features a full-service salon providing expert hair, skin, brow, and makeup services, ensuring a comprehensive beauty experience for its guests both in-store and online.

At Ulta Beauty, the technology team plays a critical role in driving the company's scalability and ongoing innovation. Described as a "mature start-up," Ulta Beauty fosters a culture of interdepartmental collaboration, open communication, and continuous learning. The company is highly invested in new and emerging technologies, empowering employees to grow professionally and make a measurable impact in a dynamic retail environment. Known for embracing agility, mental dexterity, and creativity, Ulta’s tech teams thrive amidst fast-paced challenges and are driven by a shared passion for crafting better solutions.

The role of Engineering Manager at Ulta Beauty is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the future of retail media. This position is essential in leading the growth and scalability of Ulta’s Retail Media Network (RMN), a platform that leverages Ulta’s powerful loyalty insights, customer identity data, and media assets to create significant value for both brands and guests. The Engineering Manager will spearhead the technical vision and development of Ulta’s retail media capabilities by collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including marketing, product management, data analytics, and business stakeholders.

As Ulta continues to invest in its RMN, this leader will be instrumental in re-evaluating technology decisions, building foundational in-house platforms, and implementing modern engineering and delivery practices. The Engineering Manager will oversee multiple teams employing agile methodologies to ensure synchronized and timely delivery of technology solutions that drive business growth. This dynamic role requires deep expertise in retail media, ad technology, or data platforms, and offers an exciting chance to shape how Ulta builds, owns, and scales its Retail Media Network for future success.

Responsibilities include leading product architecture, driving product strategy translation into technical roadmaps, mentoring teams with a culture of innovation, fostering stakeholder relationships, and supporting platform evolution that integrates campaign management, attribution, and customer identity touchpoints. The role demands experience with cloud technologies including Google Cloud Platform, AWS, and Azure, as well as backend development skills in Java, React, and NodeJS microservices. Candidates will play a key role in defining retail media trends and technology frameworks while working with enterprise architecture and product owners to continuously evolve and optimize the platform.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $119,300 to $175,000 per year, with eligibility for bonuses and comprehensive benefits. Ulta Beauty values diversity and inclusion, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to apply and aims to provide equal employment opportunities in accordance with state and local fair chance hiring laws.
