The Engineering Manager position, reporting directly to the Senior Director of Engineering, plays a pivotal role in supporting and advancing our engineering functions throughout various facilities in California and potentially across North America. This full-time position is responsible for managing engineering projects, continuous improvement initiatives, utility management, inventory control, and supplier contract negotiations. With a focus on productivity improvement, waste elimination, and energy optimization, this role will lead efforts to implement cost-saving techniques while ensuring compliance with budget constraints and corporate policies.

Key responsibilities include analyzing current machinery and utilities to identify improvement opportunities, collaborating with operations teams to implement enhancement projects, and developing detailed project plans that align with stakeholder expectations. The Engineering Manager will oversee equipment procurement, supplier negotiations, and comprehensive project execution, ensuring successful commissioning in line with quality standards and Right First Time (RFT) principles. Additionally, they will contribute to sustainable development by conducting energy surveys and benchmarking energy consumption against best practices, actively supporting our corporate environmental commitments.

The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in engineering (master’s preferred) and at least ten years of relevant experience within the food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries. Proven expertise in project planning, cost estimation, and commissioning is essential, along with a strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability initiatives. Effective leadership and communication skills are vital, enabling the candidate to influence and collaborate with internal teams and external contractors to achieve project goals. This role offers a salary range of $105,000 to $160,000 in California, dependent on experience, qualifications, and geographic considerations. There is an expectation of travel to multiple sites, including Gilroy and Firebaugh, CA, as well as other North American locations as needed.
