The role available within this setting is for a leadership position focused on engineering and maintenance operations at the hotel. This critical role involves directing and overseeing all engineering, maintenance, and repair activities to ensure the property operates smoothly and safely. The incumbent will develop and implement preventative maintenance programs that cover guestrooms, public areas, back-of-house spaces, equipment, and building systems. The position requires supervising and training engineering associates, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as brand standards. The role demands thorough knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, life safety, and building automation systems.

Additionally, this position involves responding to emergency situations such as equipment failures, utility interruptions, or safety concerns, highlighting the importance of quick thinking and effective problem resolution. Budget management, vendor coordination, and quality control through routine inspections are key components of the job as well. The role further includes participation in capital planning and property improvement projects, maintaining accurate records related to maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and compliance documents.

The ideal candidate will bring at least three years of hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience, preferably with supervisory experience. Strong leadership, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities are essential. The role demands excellent communication skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems, and the capacity to handle flexible schedules that may include evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins. Physical requirements include the ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, stoop, and lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds.
