The Engineering Field Technician role is a vital full-time position located at the Greenville, South Carolina branch. This position involves hands-on responsibility for conducting Construction Materials Testing, Special Inspections, and Foundation-related activities. Key job functions include routine field and laboratory testing, which is essential for maintaining the quality and safety standards required across various construction projects. The technician will be tasked with conducting soil compaction testing using industry-standard tools such as nuclear density gauges and drive tube methods, ensuring materials meet project specifications. In addition, the role involves performing concrete, grout, and masonry quality control tests through sampling, slump tests, and strength measurements to uphold structural integrity.

The position also requires sampling asphalt cores to verify thickness compliance and performing advanced subsurface condition assessments using hand augers and dynamic cone penetrometer (DCP) testing. Effective communication with site contractors, fellow technicians, and project managers is a critical component, ensuring seamless workflow and adherence to project timelines. Accurate record-keeping, including detailed field testing reports and diagrams, is mandatory to document all testing and inspection activities precisely.
