The role of the Engineer at MCR’s Tulsa Bixby, OK Hampton facility is vital to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and guest satisfaction that the company is known for. The position entails ensuring the hotel is a clean, well-organized, and safe environment not only for guests but also for team members. Engineers are responsible for responding promptly and effectively to repair requests from guests and maintaining preventative maintenance schedules for both guest rooms and public spaces. This role requires detailed knowledge of safety and health codes, including compliance with local regulations for areas like pools and spas. The Engineer will conduct thorough property inspections at the start and end of each shift, addressing any maintenance concerns identified.

In addition to technical maintenance duties, the Engineer plays a critical role in supporting the overall guest experience by maintaining spotless workspaces and exhibiting hospitality commendable of the Hampton brand. The role demands teamwork, effective communication, and a proactive attitude to go beyond the traditional scope of maintenance tasks to support hotel needs and guest services. This includes keeping maintenance areas clean and organized, using technology efficiently to document work performed, and adhering to established guidelines to uphold quality and safety standards.

The ideal candidate for this position will have technical or trade school education and at least two years of relevant experience in a commercial or hospitality environment. Essential skills include the ability to work under pressure, handle guest and coworker concerns effectively, and a genuine desire to serve guests with a positive, can-do attitude. The role also involves physical demands such as climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, standing, walking, repetitive motions, and lifting objects over 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Greet guests happily upon arrival and throughout their stay with a smile
  • Use guests' names whenever possible to ensure they feel welcomed
  • Work together to improve guest satisfaction scores
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and urgency
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all hotel features and amenities
  • Support hotel events and group activities

  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using approved greetings

  • Assist in cleaning guest rooms and public spaces when necessary
  • Greet guests warmly during cleaning activities
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and on time
  • Prepare shift handover reports that are accurate and timely
  • Wear clean, approved uniform and maintain grooming standards
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members
  • Show willingness to stretch beyond traditional role to meet business needs
  • Collaborate with all team members to create a welcoming environment
  • Respond to guest repair requests promptly and document completion
  • Maintain preventive maintenance schedules for rooms and public areas
  • Follow safety and health codes diligently
  • Report any emergency or safety concerns to supervisors
  • Conduct full property walks twice daily to identify maintenance issues
  • Keep maintenance areas clean and organized during and after shifts
