The role plays a crucial part in production supervision and operational management of assembly processes within ZFFCN’s manufacturing facilities. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you will be responsible for the development and implementation of assembly concepts that align with ZF Chassis Module Systems standards, including work plans, investment plans, assembly line layouts, and project timing. This role involves actively supporting acquisition projects for production areas, preparing requests for quotation (RFQs) for equipment suppliers, and managing the integration of new production technologies and machinery. You will have a direct impact on product quality and operational efficiency by preparing and maintaining process failure mode effects analyses (PFMEAs), value streams, and standard work instructions. Additionally, you will serve as a key liaison with customers, interpreting their requirements and helping develop innovative manufacturing solutions. The role involves careful analysis and planning of workforce utilization, space management, workflow optimization, and equipment layout design to maximize efficiency. This position requires a proactive approach to determining product specifications for purchasing equipment, materials, or parts in accordance with quality standards and operational needs. Candidates who thrive in this role typically possess strong mechanical and technical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD, and SAP software, and excellent time management and prioritization abilities. Willingness to travel when needed and authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship both now and in the future are mandatory requirements. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in engineering (mechanical / manufacturing engineering preferred)
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Good mechanical and technical skills
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office, CAD, and SAP skills
  • Good time management and prioritizing skills
  • Willingness to travel if needed
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future

Job Duties

  • Develop assembly concepts in consideration of ZF chassis module systems (work plan, investment plan, assembly line layout, project timing)
  • Support acquisition projects for the production area
  • Prepare RFQ for equipment supplier and manage the integration
  • Support launch and commissioning new assembly equipment / new products
  • Prepare and maintain PFMEAs, value stream and standard work instructions
  • Serve as a liaison with the customer for interpretation and development of new solutions
  • Analyze and plan work force utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency
  • Determine product specifications for the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, according to specifications and quality standards
