The role of Engineer at Hyatt Place Fort Worth is a vital position within the Engineering Department, designed to support the smooth and efficient functioning of the hotel’s facilities and operations. The Engineer is responsible for maintaining all physical aspects of the property, ensuring that equipment and systems are functioning properly and that the hotel environment remains safe, comfortable, and visually appealing for guests and staff alike. Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years work experience as handyman in a hotel or similar large building complex

Job Duties

  • Provide the highest quality of service to the guest at all times and anticipate and exceed guest expectations
  • Perform carpentry, plumbing, painting and use hand and power tools effectively
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, specifications and operating instructions
  • Read and complete work orders and supervise or train other workers when required
  • Detect malfunctions, dismantle and repair equipment, and install working parts
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and secured
  • Make structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, furnishings, patch or replace plaster, paint walls, ceilings, trim, and cut and lay flooring
  • Bend, cut conduit pipe, wire and drill holes for connections
  • Clean drains, replace plumbing fixtures, connect water supplies and perform basic wiring and maintenance
  • Check all exterior and public area lighting daily and maintain adequate spare parts
  • Conduct AM and PM property walks and record checklists, meter readings, and maintenance logs
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area following hotel standards
  • Practice energy conservation and ensure security and confidentiality of hotel information
  • Notify management of maintenance issues and complete all assigned preventive maintenance tasks on time
  • Maintain acceptable inspection grades and audit scores
  • Respond to maintenance tickets promptly
  • Adhere to safety standards and use personal protective equipment when handling chemicals
  • Report unsafe conditions and suspicious activity
  • Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and managers
  • Promote positive teamwork and morale
  • Adhere to all work rules, procedures, policies and uniform standards
  • Maintain professional appearance and hygiene
  • Be flexible to perform other reasonable duties as assigned.
