At Marriott, diversity and inclusion are core values, ensuring a welcoming and enriching environment for both associates and guests. Among its numerous brands, SpringHill Suites by Marriott stands out by offering an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere that caters to families and business travelers alike. SpringHill Suites feature spacious suites, complimentary breakfast, pools in most locations, and convenient amenities such as wine and beer markets. In becoming part of SpringHill Suites, you join not just a hotel brand but a portfolio under Marriott International that actively promotes career growth, diversity, and the opportunity to belong to a global team.

This role is a full-time, non-management Engineering position located at 25 W 37th St, New York, NY, with a preferred overnight shift. The pay range is between $35.00 and $47.15 per hour, reflecting the specialized skills and expertise required. The position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around maintaining the hotel property and ensuring all equipment and systems function optimally to provide guests with a safe, efficient, and comfortable stay. This includes addressing guest repair requests promptly and professionally, conducting preventive maintenance, and performing routine inspections and repairs across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC systems.

Candidates need to be adept at troubleshooting issues with pumps, motors, electrical devices, and plumbing while possessing knowledge about safety standards, including the use of lockout/tagout systems, and have experience with engineering computer programs related to maintenance and energy management. The role also requires communicating effectively with guests and team members across shifts to ensure seamless operational continuity.

In addition to technical skills, the candidate must follow all safety, security, and company policies rigorously, demonstrate professionalism in attire and interaction, and contribute positively to the customer experience by welcoming guests and anticipating their needs. Physical demands include moving or lifting objects up to 50 pounds, navigating stairs and ladders, and performing tasks that may involve bending, twisting, and stooping. The position also offers opportunities to train and mentor junior engineers, showcasing leadership potential within the engineering team.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent with vocational or technical training, a minimum of 2 years’ experience in hotel engineering or maintenance, and hands-on experience in surface preparation, painting, and general maintenance. A valid driver’s license is also required. Crucially, all candidates must have Universal Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) Certification and meet applicable state and federal licensing requirements. OSHA training and EPA Universal Certification 608 are mandatory to ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.

Being part of Marriott International and SpringHill Suites means working within a supportive and inclusive company culture that values diverse backgrounds and perspectives. Associates are encouraged to grow professionally and personally while contributing to a brand that is trusted and respected globally.
