Job Description
Cohere is a distinguished company specializing in the development and management of master-planned communities that foster connection, belonging, and an enhanced quality of life. Based in Erie, Colorado, Cohere is committed to creating vibrant neighborhoods where residents not only live but thrive through meaningful social interactions and well-thought-out community designs. The company’s approach is unique in that it focuses on building authentic relationships and experiences that address the diverse needs of all residents, especially within active adult communities. Their work is characterized by strategic partnerships, community-oriented programming, and a strong emphasis on inclusivity and sustainability. Cohere's mission is to transform spaces into thriving social hubs that support wellness, connection, and continuous engagement among community members.
The Community Engagement Director role at Cohere is an exciting, full-time, on-site opportunity based in Erie, CO. The position offers a competitive salary range from $85,000 to $95,000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision coverage, and 16 paid holidays. This role is foundational to the launch and ongoing development of a new active adult community. The Director will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to create early engagement initiatives that resonate with prospective residents even before the community’s homes are occupied or the amenity center is completed.
This position requires a strategic and creative leader who excels at building momentum and energy in formative stages, turning an emerging vision into tangible experiences that prospective residents can connect with. The Director will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive engagement plan that fosters early connections, community pride, and a strong sense of belonging. The role involves crafting unique events, activations, and programs that support sales efforts while establishing frameworks and systems essential for long-term community participation. Candidates will have the opportunity to shape the social fabric of the community by cultivating relationships with local businesses, creatives, and organizations to enrich the resident experience.
Beyond event planning and marketing support, the Director will manage operational aspects such as budgets, vendor contracts, event logistics, and compliance with insurance and permit requirements, ensuring seamless execution of programs. The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of experience in community engagement, experiential marketing, hospitality, or a related field, with a strong marketing acumen and the ability to create engaging, brand-aligned experiences that enhance prospect engagement and drive sales.
This role demands a polished, welcoming interpersonal style suitable for high-visibility leadership and fosters collaboration across multiple internal and external stakeholders. The Community Engagement Director must be proactive, adaptable, and driven, capable of working on-site alongside the sales team during the early development stages, including occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays. Cohere champions a supportive, inclusive workplace culture and is committed to professional development and employee well-being, offering extensive benefits such as employer-paid dental coverage, flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) retirement plan with matching, employee assistance programs, and more, all designed to empower employees personally and professionally.
