The role of Energy Services Specialist is vital within this organization, focusing on providing direct services to clients who seek assistance through various energy assistance programs. This position is designed to ensure clients receive thorough benefit determination, education, and critical information regarding their energy needs. The specialist plays a critical role in promoting client self-sufficiency by offering advocacy, referrals, and connecting individuals with social services both within and beyond the Opportunity Council.
Specific responsibilities include the intake of clients, scheduled service provision, eligibility screening for multiple services, income level calculations, data entry, and maintaining confidentiality of sensitive client information. The Energy Services Specialist serves as a pivotal link between the client base and community resources, providing exceptional customer service and addressing the essential need to maintain utility services and heating fuel supplies for clients in need. This role requires a combination of administrative prowess, interpersonal skills, and a dedication to community welfare.
This position operates within a Monday through Friday work schedule, offering consistency and work-life balance to the successful candidate. - High-school diploma or GED
- Two years relevant experience
- Valid Washington State driver’s license and five-year driving history within Opportunity Council's Auto Insurance Standards

Job Duties
- Provide scheduled direct services that include eligibility screening for multiple services
- determine financial eligibility
- perform problem solving and needs assessment
- make referrals
- explain agency programs and services
- Provide information and referral to clients regarding agency programs and other community agencies and resources
- Perform moderately complex data entry including client information
- Advocate for clients to maintain utility service and/or heating fuel supply in home
- Process information related to clients, maintaining confidentiality of all data in accordance with agency, state, and federal guidelines
