Job Description
Hattie B's Hot Chicken is a beloved independent, family-owned restaurant group headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Renowned for its fiery Nashville hot chicken, each location delivers a unique dining experience that expertly marries homemade Southern sides with warm, genuine hospitality. Since its inception, Hattie B's has expanded thoughtfully into multiple cities including Memphis, Birmingham, Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, Huntsville, Chicago, and Las Vegas, with further expansion plans underway across the Southern and Midwest regions of the United States. The company remains steadfastly committed to preserving its foundational values and vibrant culture while pursuing sustainable growth. Hattie B's is more than a restaurant; it is a community-oriented organization that prioritizes the well-being of its people, the quality of its food, and positive local engagement.
The senior manager roles currently opening at Hattie B's Hot Chicken represent a rewarding leadership opportunity within a fast-paced, high-volume restaurant environment. As a senior manager, the selected candidates will be instrumental in leading daily operations and managing a dynamic team dedicated to running a successful and exciting restaurant. Training for these positions will take place in Nashville during the summer, preparing managers to uphold the highest standards of service and team morale. With the restaurant expected to service up to 1000 customers per shift, candidates must exhibit resilience, positivity, and an ability to thrive under pressure. This role demands experienced leaders who lead by example — inspiring staff to connect authentically with each other and their guests while maintaining a spirited, inclusive workplace culture. Expect to work between 45 to 55 hours weekly, sharing responsibilities such as opening, mid-shift, and closing with fellow managers.
Hattie B's looks for leaders who value continuous learning, pride in details, and proactive problem-solving. The ideal candidate is empathetic, attentive, and driven by a genuine passion for feeding people delicious food and fostering an uplifting team environment. Prospective managers bring at least three years of continuous experience in high-volume restaurant management positions, including strong skills in financial oversight (P&L), sales, operations management, inventory supervision, scheduling, staff coaching and development, and back-of-house (BOH) operations in a scratch kitchen setting. Leadership at Hattie B's prioritizes patient and thoughtful mentoring, recognizing the importance of a positive culture where employees and guests alike enjoy memorable experiences.
Compensation for Assistant Managers begins on average from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, Assistant General Managers from $65,000 to $75,000, and General Managers above $75,000, all depending on experience. Salaried managers are eligible for quarterly bonuses based on position - 10% for AMs, 15% for AGMs, and 20% for GMs. Additional benefits include health insurance coverage (with 55% of premiums paid for employees and their families), short-term disability, paid time off, 401(k) retirement plans with company matching, and personal time off that accrues over time. Hattie B's fosters a supportive workplace, offering paid training and closing or half-day schedules on most major holidays to promote work-life balance. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity that invites experienced and passionate leaders to become integral members of a growing restaurant group that truly values its people and culture.
