We are currently seeking a talented Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to join our dedicated team. The Safety Officer (EMT) role is pivotal in maintaining the safety and well-being of our residents, staff, and guests. This position involves providing emergency medical responses, conducting safety patrols, and performing minor maintenance functions to ensure a secure living environment. The successful candidate will have a current California EMT certification and a commitment to exemplary care and safety standards. This full-time position operates on the swing shift from 3 pm to 11 pm, offering a starting pay of $21.75 per hour with additional pay differentials for evening, night, and weekend shifts. Job Requirements
- Current CA Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification required
- prior experience as an EMT or similar field preferred
- current CA driver’s license required
- ability to work holidays and weekends
- ability to pass background checks including fitness for duty physical, fingerprinting, and employment references
- willingness to disclose COVID-19 vaccination status if required by role
- current CA Guard Card a plus
Job Qualifications
- Current California Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- prior experience as an EMT is preferred and/or experience in a similar field or senior living
- current California driver’s license required
- ability to work holidays and weekends
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively
- good observational and documentation skills
Job Duties
- Responds to resident and staff emergency medical situations, makes assessments, and initiates appropriate medical responses
- patrols interior and exterior of buildings and grounds
- monitors the welfare of residents by performing daily status check procedures
- responds to all emergency calls, i.e., medical, fire, life-safety, and security
- records all significant observations/happenings and other appropriate documentation
- responds to minor maintenance calls in the absence of on-duty maintenance personnel and contacts physical plant staff for life-safety equipment malfunction repair
- escorts residents and staff as needed, provides personal services such as delivering medications, packages, newspapers, flowers, and other duties as assigned
- monitors and controls parking on property
- monitors and controls access to community buildings by residents, staff, and visitors
- transports staff to off-site employee parking as needed
