We are currently seeking a Center Medical Specialist to join our plasma donation center team in Shreveport, LA. The Center Medical Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining donor health and safety by conducting physical examinations, establishing medical histories, managing donor injuries, and providing education and counseling. As a Center Medical Specialist, you will perform thorough medical assessments to determine donor suitability while building rapport to enhance customer satisfaction. You will ensure confidentiality, educate donors on potential hazards, and provide counseling regarding test results. You will manage donor injuries and adverse events promptly and assist with employee training and vaccination programs. Job Requirements

Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment as a Paramedic or Emergency Medical Technician
Current CPR certification required
Ability to perform physical tasks including standing and sitting for 2 to 4 hours per day
Ability to bend and twist neck periodically during work
Frequent hand movement and fine motor skills required
Ability to lift up to 15 lbs with maximum lifting up to 50 lbs
Hearing acuity and color perception essential
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
Willingness to work in a plasma center environment with exposure to biological fluids and infectious organisms
Ability to use personal protective equipment
Willingness to work in environments with extreme temperatures such as plasma freezers

Job Qualifications

Certified/licensed as an EMT Basic, EMT Advanced, or Paramedic according to state requirements
Current CPR certification
Experience working in a healthcare or emergency medical services setting preferred
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Knowledge of donor care and safety protocols
Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting

Job Duties

Perform physical examination and establish medical history to determine donor suitability
