Over the last decade, the company has more than tripled its workforce, demonstrating remarkable expansion and a dedication to nurturing talent within its ranks. The company operates numerous donation centers, offering geographic mobility and many pathways for career advancement.

The role of Center Medical Specialist at Grifols is an exciting opportunity tailored for certified and licensed healthcare professionals such as EMTs, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Licensed Vocational Nurses, and Paramedics. The position is located within plasma donation centers where specialists play a critical role in promoting donor health and safety. This position offers competitive pay that is commensurate with licensure and experience. Employees benefit from a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with up to 5% company match, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, holiday pay, and eligibility for the company bonus program. In addition, the job schedule precludes third shifts, providing work-life balance for team members.

As a Center Medical Specialist, your core responsibilities involve performing physical examinations and taking medical histories to evaluate the suitability of donors for plasma donation. You will establish and maintain rapport with donors to ensure their overall satisfaction and confidence in the donation process. Respecting donor and staff confidentiality is paramount in this role. You will provide education to donors about general health and potential hazards related to plasma donation, as well as counsel donors when any test results are unacceptable.

Beyond donor interactions, this role entails managing and evaluating donor injuries and adverse events and performing thorough assessments of any medical history or medications that may impact eligibility. Additionally, as part of the team, you will assist with employee training and administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program. The work environment includes exposure to biological fluids, laboratory and office equipment, and cold temperatures from plasma freezers, with personal protective equipment provided to ensure safety.

The position requires varied physical activity including standing and sitting for 2 to 4 hours per day, bending, twisting, hand and foot movements, occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds, and precise motor coordination. Strong communication skills are essential to convey information clearly and effectively to donors and team members. This role is both independently driven and guided by protocols and instructions.

Joining Grifols means becoming part of a dynamic, growing healthcare organization that values diversity, equity, and inclusion. The company provides an equitable work environment without regard to race, color, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, religious practices, national origin, veteran status, disability, or other protected characteristics.
