Job Description
RISE Services is a mission-driven organization committed to empowering individuals with disabilities by helping them achieve meaningful, competitive integrated employment. As a valued service provider in the Virginia communities of Woodbridge, Fairfax, Springfield, and Stafford, RISE Services offers person-centered employment solutions, focusing on customized job development and continuous workplace support. This not-for-profit organization has built a reputation for transforming lives through innovative and compassionate services that promote self-sufficiency and independence among people with disabilities. Their approach involves individualized planning, community integration, and collaboration with employers, families, schools, and support networks to create sustainable career paths.
The role of Employment Specialist / Job Coach at RISE Services is a part-time community-based position that focuses on supported employment, individual supported employment (ISE), job coaching, career development, and employment support services for individuals with disabilities. Starting at $21.00 to $22.00 per hour, depending on experience, this position is critical in helping clients identify their career goals, develop essential workplace skills, secure competitive employment aligned with their interests and abilities, and maintain long-term job success.
As an Employment Specialist / Job Coach, you will conduct thorough employment assessments to understand each participant’s strengths, interests, and skills, and then develop personalized employment plans using a person-centered approach. You will help clients overcome employment barriers by coordinating community resources and offering coaching in resume writing, interviewing, workplace communication, and professional conduct. Your job will also involve facilitating mock interviews, teaching soft skills, and delivering job readiness activities that prepare participants for the workforce.
You will serve as a bridge between participants and employers, assisting with job searches, applications, interviews, and advocating for reasonable workplace accommodations where necessary. Ongoing job coaching will be a vital part of your duties, providing support during onboarding, skill development, and workplace integration. You will closely monitor progress, help with workplace routines, and maintain communication between participants and supervisors to ensure employment retention.
In addition to direct client services, the position requires meticulous documentation and compliance with Medicaid and organizational standards. Tracking employment outcomes such as placements, hours worked, wages, and retention rates will be part of your responsibilities. Furthermore, you will actively engage with the local community by developing relationships with employers, attending job fairs, and collaborating with support coordinators and community partners.
This role offers an opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals seeking independence through employment, all within a flexible, community-oriented work environment. Benefits for full-time employees include medical, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid holidays, short-term disability, life insurance, long-term care options, employee assistance programs, bonus programs, mileage reimbursement, and paid training and professional development. Part-time employees also have access to some benefits such as the employee assistance program and mileage reimbursement.
