As an Employee Dining Room Cook 1, you will be responsible for performing a range of food preparation and cooking duties that include washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients, preparing salads and cold foods, and engaging in fry, stock, and batch cooking processes. You will assemble and finalize the presentation of completed dishes while maintaining strict adherence to safety and sanitation protocols. This role demands proficiency in using and cleaning kitchen equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and knives safely, ensuring a sanitary and organized kitchen environment. Collaboration with other culinary team members and stewards is essential in maintaining inventory rotation and storage. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to advance your culinary skills by learning more advanced cooking techniques and assisting other team members. Opening and closing kitchen duties will also be part of your responsibilities, along with working in different kitchen venues as needed to support business operations and personal knowledge growth.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • 3 to 6 months of related cooking experience preferred
  • Ability to achieve ServSafe certification within 90 days
  • Ability to complete Culinary Academy within 12 months
  • Ability to maintain discretion with confidential information
  • Professional interaction with customers and team members
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours extended shifts late nights early mornings weekends and holidays
  • Ability to talk hear stand sit walk climb balance stoop kneel crouch crawl and move freely throughout the property for prolonged periods
  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods in a physically demanding fast paced environment
  • Regular use of hands to handle feel objects tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Ability to operate a personal computer
  • Ability to lift carry push pull or move objects up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally with assistance
  • Use of personal protective equipment as required
  • Vision abilities including close color distance peripheral depth perception and adjustment focus

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Perform basic to intermediate food preparation and cooking duties including washing peeling cutting and measuring ingredients for use preparing salads and cold foods and fry stock and batch cooking
  • Assemble garnish and finalize presentation of completed dishes
  • Use and clean kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils including but not limited to ovens grills fryers broilers and knives safely
  • Maintain a safe sanitary and organized working environment working closely with stewards at all times
  • Assist in storing and rotating all inventories
  • Learn to perform more advanced kitchen and cooking duties and assist other members of the culinary team
  • Perform opening and closing duties as needed
  • Work at other kitchens venues as assigned based on business needs and to gain knowledge
  • Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental internal controls policies procedures and regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
