Job Description
This employment opportunity is with a reputable emergency medical services provider committed to delivering high-quality pre-hospital and facility-based emergency care. Known for its dedication to community health and safety, the organization operates ambulance and rescue units in strict adherence to federal, state, and local regulations. The company focuses on ensuring all emergency medical technicians (EMTs) are well-trained, certified, and equipped to handle a wide variety of medical emergencies with efficiency, compassion, and professionalism. With a strong emphasis on teamwork and leadership, this provider supports the development of its EMTs through continuing education and adherence to rigorous protocols and standards to maintain the highest level of patient care and safety.
The role of the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is essential within this dynamic environment. This full-time position offers a $10,000 sign-on bonus for candidates accepting either day or night shift roles with a commitment to two years of employment. The EMT serves as a critical first responder in both emergency and non-emergency medical situations, providing basic life support and assisting with advanced life support when required. An EMT in this role leads and directs patient care efforts while riding as an attendant-in-charge, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and proper medical intervention in line with established protocols and orders from medical control.
EMTs engage in a broad range of duties that extend beyond direct patient care to include vehicle operation and maintenance, safety compliance, documentation, and infection control practices. They oversee the preparedness of their vehicles and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and operational at the start and end of their shifts. Physical demands of the job require strength and ability to lift significant weights and balance patients safely. EMTs maintain not only the ambulance and patient compartment but also the cleanliness and orderliness of related spaces like offices and lounges. Continuous education and timely certification renewals are required to remain compliant with state EMS standards and company policies. This opportunity is ideal for individuals dedicated to public service, who thrive in fast-paced and unpredictable work environments, and who are committed to making a real difference in the health outcomes of those in their communities.
