The hospital is supported by highly skilled board-certified specialists and emergency professionals who work collaboratively to ensure comprehensive and progressive care. Equipped with modern, cutting-edge technology including a full in-house laboratory, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and electrochemotherapy, VERC is an industry leader in veterinary medical services on the Hawaiian Islands.
The Emergency Concierge role at VERC plays a critical part in maintaining smooth communication between the emergency room clinical team and the front desk, ensuring cat owners and clients have a clear understanding of their pet's care process. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a compassionate attitude as it directly interfaces with pet owners during intense situations. The concierge acts as the liaison, facilitating the flow of information between veterinarians, technicians, and clients, and manages administrative tasks that support the medical team. This role helps clients through the intake process, treatment planning, deposit collection, and ongoing updates throughout their pet's emergency care.
This full-time position demands precision and professionalism in managing treatment plans, updating records in the veterinary management software, preparing for procedures such as euthanasia when necessary, and ensuring that clients are informed about wait times and financial processes. The Emergency Concierge must track and communicate the status of patients and owners, coordinate deposits with the front desk, and help navigate any concerns owners may have during difficult moments. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of accountability, time management, and adaptability to thrive in a dynamic and high-pressure environment.
VERC offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance plans with an optional 100% employer-paid medical plan, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Staff also benefit from flex-spending accounts, 401(k) plans with employer match, Employee Assistance Programs, paid time off, uniforms, and a generous continuing education allowance. Employee wellness, career development, and job satisfaction are prioritized in this role, making it a fulfilling career path within a compassionate and innovative healthcare setting. By joining VERC, the Emergency Concierge becomes part of an esteemed veterinary community dedicated to exceptional patient care and veterinary medicine advancement within an integrated network that values diversity and equal opportunity.
