Job Description

Suite Stays is a hotel located in the heart of downtown Amarillo, adjacent to the Amarillo Civic Center. Our hotel offers two-room suites, providing comfort and convenience for travelers. With attractions like Cadillac Ranch and the Amarillo Botanical Gardens within 15 minutes, Suite Stays is an excellent choice for both business and leisure guests. Our property features a variety of amenities including an indoor pool, dry sauna, fitness center, and event space that can accommodate up to 1,000 guests. Guests enjoy our free made-to-order breakfast and complimentary evening reception, making their stay even more enjoyable. We pride ourselves on delivering the best guest service in the area.

The Cook position at Suite Stays is a pivotal role responsible for preparing all food items in the Complimentary Breakfast Area based on standardized recipes, while maintaining the highest standards to create appealing and appetizing products. This role is essential in ensuring our guests start their day with a delicious, well-prepared meal. The Cook is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the kitchen and work areas, minimizing waste, and maximizing cost and production efficiency. This role requires a friendly, service-oriented attitude and the ability to remain composed and objective under pressure. The Cook must be knowledgeable about menus and preparation standards, adept at using kitchen equipment, and committed to upholding all hotel policies and safety procedures.

Job Qualifications

  • ability to maintain composure and objectivity under pressure

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner
  • maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards
  • maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
  • comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations
  • comply with certification requirements as applicable to position
  • maintain a friendly and warm demeanor at all times
  • have thorough knowledge of menus and the preparation required
  • maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage areas
  • complete necessary food and station preparations prior to opening of the Breakfast Area
  • prepare and display buffet food items according to standards
  • prepare and service food for Complimentary Breakfast
  • prepare all foods following standard recipes
  • breakdown buffets and kitchen line and store food and equipment properly
  • know the location and operation of all fire extinguishing equipment
  • practice safe work habits to avoid injuries
  • be familiar with hotel policies and emergency procedures
  • use Production Charts as specified by standards
  • be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to guests, managers and associates
  • operate and maintain cleanliness of all kitchen equipment
  • maintain the 'Clean As You Go' policy
  • assist in storage and rotation of food items
  • sign keys out and back in under supervision
  • attend meetings as required by management
  • perform other duties as requested by management
  • maintain a high level of trust and responsibility
  • represent the company with reputation and good character and exercise sound judgment
