Job Description
Penske Logistics is a leading provider of innovative transportation, warehousing, and freight management solutions designed to help businesses optimize their supply chains. Operating across North America, South America, Europe, and Asia, Penske Logistics is known for delivering state-of-the-art services that enhance visibility and reduce costs for market-leading companies. With a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and operational excellence, Penske Logistics supports a diverse range of industries by offering scalable, innovative logistics solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each client. Their dedication to quality, safety, and reliability has made them a preferred partner in the logistics sector worldwide.
The Elite Truck Driver / Traveling Driver – Class A position at Penske Logistics offers a unique opportunity for experienced CDL-A drivers who seek variety, flexibility, and impactful work assignments. This role is distinct from typical truck-driving positions by offering drivers the chance to travel regionally and nationally across diverse routes, stepping in where their expertise is needed most. The Elite Driver team supports critical operations, launches new business initiatives, and helps stabilize performance for key customers. Assignments typically last at least three weeks, with options to extend or adjust based on personal preferences, giving drivers true flexibility in their careers.
Compensation for this role is competitive and designed to reward reliability and skill. Drivers consistently earn $2350 or more per travel week, including a $350 per diem, with pay continuing during home weeks. This setup ensures steady income while offering the option for one full week off every month. Beyond pay, Penske values driver well-being through extensive benefits, including paid vacations, holidays, comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, retirement plans with company contributions, and disability insurance. Safety and support are paramount, with access to company-provided uniforms, safety footwear, driver referral bonuses, safety recognition programs, and 24/7 driver and roadside assistance.
The role requires a current CDL-A license with documented tractor-trailer experience, typically at least two years within the last five, and a clean driving record with no more than two moving violations in the past three years. Preferred qualifications include hazmat and doubles endorsements, and the ability to obtain or maintain a non-excepted interstate DOT medical card. Drivers are expected to operate safely and responsibly, using advanced trucks equipped with inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras for added protection. They utilize onboard technology such as scanners to ensure accurate delivery tracking across various environments and load types, from high-touch to no-touch job assignments.
Members of the Elite Driver team are national responders who enhance operational efficiency by supporting special projects, new account startups, and critical points within the company’s network. This role offers considerable variety—no two assignments are identical—making it ideal for drivers who thrive on adaptability and the chance to make a real difference in the logistics business. Drivers also benefit from opportunities for mobility, training advancement, and career growth within a stable, nationwide company recognized for quality equipment, excellent management, and a strong safety record. Paying drivers every Friday and nurturing a high-performing team culture, Penske Logistics invites experienced CDL-A drivers to elevate their careers and join a respected, professional driving team.
