Job Description

Penske Logistics is a leading global transportation and logistics company known for delivering innovative, state-of-the-art supply chain solutions across multiple continents including North America, South America, Europe, and Asia. With a commitment to excellence and operational efficiency, Penske Logistics serves some of the world’s foremost brands by providing reliable freight management and transportation services. The company prides itself on a strong focus on safety, quality equipment, and exceptional customer service, making it a preferred employer for professional drivers who value stability, career growth, and a dynamic work environment.

This particular role is for an Elite Truck Driver or Traveling Driver with a Class A CDL. It offers a unique opportunity for experienced, dependable drivers who desire flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a significant impact within a prestigious logistics team. Instead of being assigned to a fixed route, drivers join a national response team that travels across different Penske locations in support of critical operations, new business launches, and high-impact projects. Assignments typically last for a minimum of three weeks with the option to extend, providing drivers genuine schedule flexibility tailored to their availability and preferences.

The Elite Truck Driver position stands out by offering consistent, premium pay with competitive compensation starting at $2,350 per travel week. This includes a $350 per week per diem and guaranteed pay during home weeks, along with an option for one full week off each month. Additionally, drivers benefit from paid vacation, holidays, and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage. Penske also invests in retirement plans with company contributions and provides short- and long-term disability, life and AD&D insurance. For added support and convenience, professional drivers receive company-provided uniforms and safety footwear, a driver referral bonus of up to $5,000, and access to safety recognition programs. Moreover, drivers have 24/7 access to driver and roadside assistance to ensure peace of mind on every trip.

The role requires driving well-maintained vehicles boasting best-in-class specifications for comfort and safety, including inward and outward-facing in-cab cameras. Drivers use advanced scanners and onboard technology to ensure accurate deliveries and maintain high standards of operational excellence. Job assignments vary from high touch to no touch deliveries, and Penske provides training for handling specialized equipment to prepare all drivers thoroughly.

Penske’s Elite Driver team members are known for their adaptability, professionalism, and commitment to safety. The role requires at least two years of documented tractor-trailer driving experience within the last five years, and candidates must hold a current Class A CDL. Preferred endorsements include hazmat and doubles for enhanced driving opportunities. Maintaining a clean safety record is essential; applicants should have no more than two moving violations in the past three years. This high-profile role also demands English language proficiency, with compliance to federal transportation regulations and the ability to work alertly while prioritizing personal and public safety.
