Job Description

Performance Academies is a respected educational institution committed to shaping the leaders of tomorrow through a comprehensive, holistic approach to student development. Operating multiple campuses including K-8 and high school levels, Performance Academies focuses on educating the whole child by integrating rigorous academics, daily structured physical fitness, and intentional character education into its curriculum. Grounded in core values of Knowledge, Strength, and Values, the academy fosters a safe, disciplined, and supportive environment where students can grow and excel both academically and personally.

At Performance Academies, educators are part of a collaborative team united by a common mission to help students develop strong minds and bodies, preparing them to lead with purpose and integrity. Teachers collaborate regularly, support each other, and uphold high expectations to ensure that every student receives a quality education complemented by structured physical activity such as martial arts, tennis, and soccer. This character-driven culture emphasizes respect, responsibility, teamwork, and a consistent uniform policy designed to reinforce positive behavior.

The elementary school teacher position based at the Toledo Preparatory and Fitness Academy is a pivotal role focused on delivering engaging, standards-aligned instruction for students from kindergarten through fifth grade. This role requires dedication to fostering an inclusive, structured, and dynamic learning environment tailored to meet diverse learning needs through differentiated instruction and continual assessment. The teacher will utilize Performance Academies' curriculum and instructional resources to create meaningful learning experiences that promote critical thinking, inquiry, and sustained student engagement. Monitoring progress through formative and summative assessments will be key in adjusting teaching methods to maximize academic growth while maintaining high expectations.

Beyond academics, the role emphasizes cultivating a positive and inclusive classroom culture, implementing school-wide behavior and character education policies, and building strong relationships to support the social and emotional development of students. Ensuring student safety and well-being by adhering to all school policies and child protection procedures is paramount.

Family engagement is also a critical component of the role, involving regular communication with families about student progress, participation in parent conferences and student support meetings, and active collaboration with colleagues and instructional coaches to enhance student outcomes. The teacher is encouraged to contribute to school-wide events and community outreach efforts, ensuring a vibrant school culture that extends beyond the classroom.

Professional growth is supported through ongoing learning opportunities, team meetings, and comprehensive leadership support focused on coaching and teacher success. The ideal candidate is someone who believes in the potential of every child, thrives within a structured school environment, values data-driven instruction, and enjoys fostering strong relationships with students and families while embracing teamwork and continuous professional development.

Performance Academies offers a competitive salary with annual cost of living adjustments and performance bonuses based on enrollment and academic success. The benefits package includes comprehensive health plans starting from day one, dental and vision insurance, company-paid life and disability insurance, participation in the State Teachers Retirement System (STRS), scheduled holiday breaks, paid time off, and personal days. The academy takes pride in supporting the health, wellness, and livelihood of its staff, positioning itself as the best school in the neighborhood and a leading employer for educators dedicated to making a lasting difference.
