Currently, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Electronics Assembler to join its 4th shift team based in Elkridge, Maryland. This role offers exciting opportunities for individuals with a strong background in mechanical and circuit card assembly, wiring, soldering, and troubleshooting electrical and electronic systems. The Electronics Assembler will work on complex assemblies and prototypes, employing skills to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings to ensure precision and quality in production. The position demands the ability to perform delicate tasks like circuit card soldering, bonding compounds mixing, and operating various tools and assembly equipment, while maintaining high standards in tight or physically demanding environments. The role also includes fieldwork and support for installations, maintenance, or repairs under diverse conditions.

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance, with U.S. citizenship being mandatory for this clearance. The compensation range for this role is competitive, between $50,882.00 and $121,755.00 annually, with additional opportunities for overtime, shift differential pay, and discretionary bonuses based on individual and company performance.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent (GED)
- Four years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical assembly
- Experience working on circuit card assembly
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings
- Experience using hand and/or power tools
- Ability to complete Basic Solder Certification and Visual Acuity Test
- Ability to work in tight spaces with attention to detail
- Ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Ability to lift, push, pull up to 50lbs
- Willingness to work in adverse conditions and overtime when required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or recognized equivalent (GED) with 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment performing mechanical assembly
- Experience working on circuit card assembly
- Experience reading and working from schematics and drawings to make initial layouts
- Experience using hand and/or power tools
- Experience and ability to successfully complete Basic Solder Certification, Visual Acuity Test, and in-house skills training
- Experience working in tight spaces that require a high level of attention to detail and uncompromised quality
- Experience and ability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Experience lifting, pushing, pulling up to 50lbs
- Experience and willingness to work in adverse conditions
- Willingness to work overtime when required to meet program deadlines
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance
- U.S. citizenship required
- AA degree preferred
- IPC 620 Cable/Wire Harness Assemblies preferred
- SAP or other ERP/MRP system experience preferred
- Forklift and crane experience preferred
- Cable management experience preferred
- Current/active U.S. Government Secret Level Security Clearance preferred
Job Duties
- Obtain all necessary information to perform job assignments and report discrepancies or issues to appropriate personnel
- Plan, lay out, assemble, wire, solder, repair, and maintain electrical/electronic, mechanical, antenna, and trailer systems
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings to perform point-to-point assembly
- Assemble and disassemble production or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to manufacturing, engineering, and quality specifications
- Perform wiring using harness boards, tie-in cables, and harnesses
- install mechanical parts, components, and fasteners as specified
- Perform circuit card assembly, repair, and soldering of components, including large masses of wires in confined spaces
- Modify, rework, troubleshoot, and reassemble assemblies/subassemblies as directed by a Cognizant Engineer or other authorized personnel
- Conduct peer inspections and verify product conformance in accordance with manufacturing, engineering, and quality requirements
- Mix and apply bonding compounds, encapsulates, conformal coatings, paints, epoxies, and other finishing materials as required
- Use and operate a broad range of hand tools, power tools, jigs, saws, assembly equipment, test equipment, and safety equipment
- Understand the function and use of a broad range of electrical/electronic and mechanical parts and components such as brackets, solder, wire, resistors, diodes, capacitors, relays, transformers, switches, PC boards, and epoxies
- Perform field work and support installations, maintenance, or repairs in adverse conditions for short periods of time
- Work in tight spaces, at heights, and in physically demanding environments while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and uncompromised quality
