The specific role currently available is a second-shift Assembly Operator position located in Littleton, Colorado, at 10720 Bradford Rd. This position primarily involves performing precise hand-soldering operations on electronic components and subassemblies following company, IPC, and J standards. Working from 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, Monday through Friday with occasional overtime, the role requires proficiency in using hand tools, soldering irons, and various inspection instruments under magnification. Candidates will work closely with process and manufacturing engineers by following detailed work instructions to ensure quality assembly of circuit boards and electronic parts. This role demands attention to detail, good mechanical skills, and the ability to operate under strict quality and safety guidelines including compliance with export control regulations like ITAR.

Job Requirements

  • 1-5 years of solder/complex assembly experience
  • ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
  • ability to perform basic and routine repetitive mechanical assembly operations on components and subassemblies using fixtures and hand tools
  • proficient use and familiarity with hand tools
  • ability to run automatic soldering equipment
  • ability to determine if product meets company quality standards

Job Duties

  • Assemble parts into repetitive and non-complex units or subassemblies utilizing hand tools and soldering iron
  • use voltmeters, scales, holding fixtures, bench tools, automated and manual soldering equipment and special fixtures
  • perform assembly operations typically under a stereo microscope
  • follow written and oral instructions from process engineers, manufacturing engineers, and supervisor
  • prepare and assemble PC boards, perform component preparation, dispense and apply adhesives, utilize various tools to perform mechanical assembly
  • inspect work to ensure it meets all requirements
  • comply with and support all department and corporate policies and procedures including safety, security and ESD
  • inspect product at various stages of process
  • create NCMR (non-conforming material review) and perform root cause analysis as needed
  • read, interpret and follow detailed work instructions and assembly drawings
