Job Description

RTX, formerly known as Raytheon Technologies Corporation, is a global leader in aerospace and defense, employing approximately 185,000 innovative minds united by a shared mission to solve the world’s most complex challenges. As one of the largest aerospace and defense companies worldwide, RTX brings over 100 years of engineering expertise and cutting-edge research and development capabilities to deliver world-class solutions that aid national defense and global security. The company’s commitment to innovation, safety, and collaboration drives its ability to create advanced technologies that protect and connect people everywhere. Headquartered in the United States, RTX operates in numerous locations worldwide and serves a diverse set of customers, including the U.S. Department of Defense, allied nations, and commercial aerospace sectors.

This specific opportunity is based onsite at RTX’s facility located at 1100 International Plaza Building 305 in Chesapeake, Virginia. The position being offered is an Electrical Assembly II (Electro-Mechanical Assembler) role — a critical and hands-on role that supports Navy and defense-related systems through assembly, wiring, repairs, and inspections of electro-mechanical equipment. This position is ideal for individuals with solid technical skills performing routine to moderately complex electro-mechanical builds under limited supervision. Working in this role, you will follow established work instructions and engineering drawings, apply assembly techniques such as soldering, crimping, and cable routing, and engage in quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards are maintained.

As an Electrical Assembly II, you will be assembling and upgrading shipboard hardware and subassemblies while ensuring compliance with MIL-STD specifications and Raytheon’s rigorous quality requirements. You will perform tasks such as interpreting engineering schematics, conducting functional tests, and maintaining accurate production records. The role requires physical capability as you will be lifting components up to 35 pounds and performing repetitive tasks while standing or seated for extended periods. This position does not require a security clearance but does require U.S. citizenship, as access to sensitive information is restricted to authorized U.S. persons.

The employment is onsite full-time, with hourly pay ranging from $23 to $28 based on experience and qualifications. RTX values a culture of safety, trust, respect, accountability, collaboration, and innovation and fosters an inclusive working environment committed to equal opportunity and affirmative action practices. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability coverage, 401(k) matching, flexible spending accounts, paid time off, parental leave, and other supportive programs. The Electrical Assembly II position offers a rewarding pathway to contribute to technologies that protect freedoms and advance aerospace and defense missions globally, making a tangible impact every day.
