The Mechanical/Electro-Mechanical Assembler role at Collins Aerospace is an onsite position based in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is integral to maintaining the flow of work by planning and performing a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical assembly, testing, fabrication, and inspection operations on various aerospace products. The candidate will work primarily on the second shift from Monday through Friday, 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm, contributing directly to the manufacturing and quality assurance processes that uphold the company's high standards.

The role involves interpreting blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials to accurately assemble complex aerospace components. Operating a range of tools from hand tools to light machinery is essential, as well as maintaining inventory within workstations to ensure smooth and efficient production flow. The assembler is responsible for performing stringent quality checks to identify product defects and documenting any issues for prompt resolution. Reworking and repairing assembled equipment according to engineering specification changes is also a crucial part of the role, demanding keen attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality standards.

Located in a dynamic work environment, assemblers may occasionally need to provide weekend and holiday support to fulfill customer demands. They will be working around products of varying weights and sizes, equipment with moving parts, and chemicals that may emit fumes, requiring strict compliance with safety protocols including the use of static-control and personal protective equipment. Physical demands are notable and include the ability to stand for up to 8 hours, lift weights up to 40 pounds, bend, stoop, and perform precise manual manipulations using the hands for extended durations.
