Eaton is renowned for its innovative approach to managing electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical power more efficiently, safely, and sustainably. The IS AER ITD division, located in Camarillo, California, focuses on aerospace technologies and related systems, providing high-quality engineering and manufacturing services that cater primarily to the aerospace sector. Committed to maintaining the highest standards of environmental, health, and safety (EHS) practices, Eaton fosters a culture of safety and operational excellence across all its facilities.
This current opening for an EHS Technician 1st Shift at the Camarillo facility offers an important opportunity for professionals passionate about environmental health and safety to join a dynamic, forward-thinking team. The role is designed for a first shift schedule, with core working hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday through Friday, providing a consistent daytime schedule to support professional work-life balance. The hourly salary for this position ranges from $22 to $30, determined based on the candidate's skills, professional experience, and qualifications, aligned with market standards and business needs.
The EHS Technician will lead and support the implementation of environmental, health, safety, and security programs at the Camarillo facility. This position is fundamental in ensuring that all operations comply with stringent national, state, and local regulatory requirements, advancing Eaton’s commitment to creating a Zero Incident Safety culture. The role demands a proactive individual who will conduct risk assessments, lead the site MESH (Manufacturing, Environment, Safety, Health) team, and oversee critical EHS metrics reporting. Additionally, the technician will be responsible for managing OSHA employee Right-to-Know programs and EPA Community Right-to-Know along with Facility Risk Management programs. The incumbent will be instrumental in facilitating training programs related to regulatory requirements, supporting leadership teams, and maintaining compliance documentation and communication.
Moreover, the technician will coordinate several OSHA compliance programs including personal protective equipment (PPE), hearing conservation, respiratory protection, bloodborne pathogen protocols, foot and eye protection, confined space safety, contractor safety, and hazard communication management. The position requires a collaborative approach with site leadership, supervisors, and frontline leaders to evaluate workstations, identify ergonomic risks, and implement improvements to enhance workplace safety and employee wellness. The candidate will also ensure timely resolution of EHS action items and participate actively in maintaining the EHS Management system in alignment with corporate and regulatory standards.
Eaton values diversity and provides equal employment opportunities to candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, national origin, disability, marital status, or any other protected status by law. The company supports second chance employment by considering qualified applicants with an arrest or conviction history in accordance with relevant legislation. Potential employees can expect a supportive workplace committed to accommodation needs during the recruitment process. In addition to a competitive salary, Eaton offers comprehensive benefits including health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and various employee wellness programs.
This role offers a strategic position for those who have a passion for advancing workplace safety and environmental stewardship within a leading aerospace-focused division of a global corporation. Candidates will find themselves contributing meaningfully while growing their careers in a supportive and innovative environment.
