Within this innovative and fast-paced environment, the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) team at Apple plays a crucial role in protecting the well-being of employees, customers, and the communities where Apple operates. Apple is currently seeking an enthusiastic, highly organized, and proactive EHS Lead to join this team. The EHS Lead is responsible for providing comprehensive environmental health and safety support across diverse workplace settings, including offices, content production stages, and research laboratories. This role requires a self-starter with the ability to work independently, anticipate team needs, and initiate continuous improvements in safety practices. As an Apple EHS Lead, you will have extensive knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations as well as environmental laws and standards. Your role will include conducting EHS inspections and risk assessments, coordinating chemical inventories and emergency evacuation drills, investigating incidents, and implementing corrective actions to prevent recurrence. You will stay abreast of evolving regulations and recommend updates to policies and procedures to maintain compliance and enhance the safety culture. Managing vital EHS documentation and records, acting as a contact point for EHS inquiries, and responding to onsite emergency situations are also key responsibilities. Collaboration with cross-functional teams to design and implement safety initiatives and providing mentorship and training to employees supports Apple’s commitment to an outstanding culture of safety and environmental stewardship.
This position offers a competitive base salary range of $126,600 to $190,200 depending on qualifications and experience. Apple’s total compensation package includes opportunities for discretionary bonuses, stock awards, and participation in the Employee Stock Purchase Program. Job Requirements
- 7+ years of EHS experience
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
- Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
- Experience providing laboratory and facilities EHS support
- Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed
- Comfortable acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant EHS discipline
- 7+ years of EHS experience
- Knowledge of hazard identification, risk assessment, and incident investigation methodologies
- Experience in developing, maintaining and implementing written EHS programs and processes, tools, and materials
- Experience providing laboratory and facilities EHS support
- Ability to be on call and work off hours as needed, and comfortable acting as a first responder in emergency scenarios
- Master’s degree in a relevant EHS discipline is preferred
- EHS experience in multi-national companies preferred
- Nationally recognized professional credentials such as Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) are preferred
Job Duties
- Performing EHS inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with all applicable EHS regulations and global standards
- Coordinating chemical inventories, emergency evacuation drills, new equipment and chemical reviews, operational risk assessments, and regulatory agency inspections
- Conducting incident investigations and developing corrective action plans to prevent future occurrences
- Staying up to date on regulations and standard processes, and making recommendations for improvements to procedures and programs
- Handling EHS documentation and record keeping, ensuring all vital permits and reports are completed accurately and on time
- Acting as a point of contact for EHS related inquiries and concerns from employees and onsite contractors
- Coordinating and responding to onsite emergency response efforts
- Participating in the review of operations, processes, and procedures at the proposal and design phase and throughout implementation to control and reduce EHS hazards
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS initiatives and improvements
- Providing mentorship and training to employees on procedures and practices to promote an outstanding culture
