The Food Service Team Member role at Cumberland Farms is a dynamic position designed for individuals who are energetic, outgoing, and passionate about customer interaction and food preparation. The Food Service Team Member's daily responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, following precise food preparation processes, maintaining cleanliness and organization, and efficiently operating sales registers when needed. Team members will monitor product stock levels to ensure full availability of food items and rotate stock appropriately. Alongside direct food service tasks, this role calls for leadership by example, demonstrating commitment to company values and policies, and supporting the team with other duties as assigned. The position is available both part-time and full-time, requiring flexibility in work hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Physical stamina is necessary due to prolonged standing, lifting requirements, and the ability to work in various environmental conditions such as cooler temperatures.

Job Requirements

  • Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds
  • Frequently lift and or move up to 25 pounds
  • Occasionally lift and or move up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to stand and walk 8 hours a day
  • Ability to reach overhead, bend, squat, twist, reach, grasp and grip
  • Ability to work in cooler cold temperatures
  • Part-time and full-time availability with flexible scheduling including weekends and holidays
  • Specialized attire required in food establishments

Job Qualifications

  • Preferred education high school or GED
  • Preferred experience 3-6 months retail or guest service restaurant
  • ServSafe or food safety certification a plus but not mandatory
  • Comfortable talking and interacting with guests and team members
  • High energy
  • Ability to move from one activity to another quickly
  • Team oriented willing to give extra effort to help others
  • Computer skills are helpful

Job Duties

  • Greet all guests in a friendly manner to make them feel welcomed and appreciated
  • When assigned to the food service area, ensure that the recipes and food prep procedures are followed correctly
  • Ensure that food is wrapped and labeled correctly
  • Ensure that food presentation and work areas are kept sparkling clean
  • Maintain company standards adhering to food safety and sanitization protocols
  • Maintain equipment
  • Effectively operate the register processing sales transactions efficiently and friendly to minimize guest wait time
  • Maintain the overall appearance and cleanliness of the food service area
  • Monitor product levels on the sales floor including coolers and hot food cases
  • Rotate stock and keep product levels full
  • Lead by example in execution of company values, programs, processes and policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Store Manager or person in charge in the Store Manager's absence
  • Perform essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations
