The EEG Technician position at Intermountain Health is a part-time role based in the EEG Department across Utah Valley Hospital and American Fork Hospital. This role requires working 32 hours per week, primarily during evening hours, from Monday through Thursday, 6:00 pm to 2:00 am, with on-call duties extending until 6:30 am and rotating weekend calls. The hourly pay rate ranges from $26.74 to $41.28, depending on experience.

As an EEG Technician, individuals will perform Electroencephalogram (EEG) procedures under the supervision of Registered EEG Technicians and epilepsy care providers. The position involves providing neurodiagnostic care to patients both in the hospital and EEG clinics, utilizing specialized neurodiagnostic technologies. The technician’s responsibilities include setting up and monitoring EEG equipment, ensuring proper electrode placement according to best practices, and maintaining accurate documentation and charting of each procedure. The role demands interaction with patients, healthcare providers, and caregivers, requiring excellent communication skills and a patient-focused approach.

This position emphasizes both technical skills and compassionate care, with duties such as performing routine and continuous EEG hookups, tracking and maintaining equipment and supplies, and assisting in Video/EEG monitoring. The technician will also be expected to follow strict protocols, contribute to patient safety and outcome improvements, and adapt to the fast-paced healthcare environment effectively. Experience with computer systems and billing processes is valued, and the role involves a range of physical activities including transferring patients, handling medical supplies, and standing for extended periods.
