Job Description

Saint Michael's College, located in Vermont, is a private liberal arts college known for its commitment to fostering an inclusive and engaging educational environment rooted in Edmundite Catholic traditions. The college places strong emphasis on community, social justice, and personal growth, creating a vibrant atmosphere for students to develop academically, spiritually, and socially. The Edmundite Campus Ministry is an integral part of this holistic approach, providing students with numerous opportunities for faith exploration and spiritual development through retreats, scripture reflection, liturgical ministries, and community events. This ministry supports students in integrating their faith values with their daily lives and college experience.

Saint Michael's College Edmundite Campus Ministry is currently seeking a dedicated Student Engagement Coordinator for a full-time, one-year position. This role is designed to assist the Campus Ministry staff in recruiting, engaging, supporting, and maintaining student participation in various ministry programs. This includes organizing and facilitating retreats, scripture reflection sessions, liturgical ministries, liturgy evaluation meetings, table fellowship events, and faith sharing groups. The role requires working on Sundays, balanced by time off during the week, to accommodate the liturgical calendar and student needs.

The Student Engagement Coordinator plays a pivotal role in enriching the spiritual life on campus by managing logistics, coordinating participants, promoting engagement, and leading key faith-based initiatives. This individual works collaboratively with ministry staff and students to create a welcoming and supportive environment for spiritual conversations and community building. Essential responsibilities include leading weekly liturgy evaluations, facilitating scripture reflection discussions, coordinating small-group faith discussions, and serving as Mass Coordinator to oversee liturgical preparations and minister scheduling.

In addition to these duties, the coordinator will assist with campus outreach efforts by staffing open house tables to introduce prospective students to the ministry's offerings. They will also organize monthly Table Fellowship dinners, support liturgical preparations during Advent and Lent, help plan and lead LEAP retreats, and promote Campus Ministry programs through various marketing methods including social media, posters, and direct outreach. This multifaceted role requires strong organizational skills, ability to engage students effectively, and a genuine passion for fostering spiritual growth.

The salary range for this position is $40,000 to $43,000. Saint Michael's College values diverse perspectives and encourages applicants who believe they can contribute value to the College community, regardless of whether they meet every listed qualification. The College is an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusive hiring practices, welcoming candidates from all backgrounds and identities.
