This position entails providing exemplary customer service as the initial point of contact for guests and members who enter the church’s facilities. The receptionist is tasked with creating a welcoming and efficient environment, ensuring that all visitors feel acknowledged, guided, and assisted as needed. This role is vital to supporting the church’s ministries by removing administrative obstacles so that the staff can focus on their mission activities. The ideal candidate for this position is motivated, highly flexible, resourceful, and detail-oriented. They possess the initiative to anticipate needs and joyfully deliver support with a focus on excellence, timeliness, and efficiency, even amidst the dynamic and fast-paced environment of church activities. Reporting directly to the Executive Pastor of Ministries and collaborating closely with the Executive Assistant, the receptionist will often interact with church staff, members, and external vendors, necessitating strong interpersonal communication and professionalism.
This is a part-time role offering between 8 to 16 hours per week, typically spread over two days. The receptionist’s responsibilities encompass greeting guests warmly, managing phone communications expertly, handling administrative tasks such as copying and mail processing, and providing various kinds of support to ministry events and day-to-day office needs. The role also requires maintaining the cleanliness and organization of shared spaces including the office lobby, conference rooms, and break areas. The person in this position must be comfortable using various office technologies including phone systems, copiers, and software platforms like Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. There is also an expectation for the receptionist to uphold a testimony of faith in Jesus Christ, actively participate in the NGC Eastside community, and embody the church’s mission and vision through their daily work and attitude. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a customer service and administrative capacity within a faith-based, mission-driven organization.
