The role of Server at Eastmont is a part-time position offering $15.50 per hour. The shift runs from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., making it ideal for individuals seeking flexible working hours while being part of a dedicated care community. The Server plays a crucial role in enhancing the dining experience of residents by assisting with meal selections, delivering food efficiently, and providing attentive support throughout the meal service. This position requires someone who is compassionate, patient, and attentive to the needs of seniors, ensuring their safety and comfort during dining. The Server will be responsible for presenting menus, taking and recording orders, assisting residents with buffet stations, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the dining area. Additional tasks may include light kitchen duties such as salad bar service, soup service, portioning desserts, and beverage preparation.

Successful candidates will have prior serving experience, familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems, and effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Experience in long-term care or home care settings is preferred but not mandatory. The role involves carrying out duties efficiently and courteously while adhering to safety guidelines, including passing background checks and pre-employment screenings like drug tests and TB tests where necessary. Job Requirements

  • At least 19 years of age
  • Previous server experience highly preferred
  • 6 months or more in long term care, home care or related field preferred
  • Software experience using POS (point-of-sale) transactional systems
  • Must possess effective English verbal and written communication skills
  • Must pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • May need to complete other pre-employment screenings such as physical and TB test as required by state/local guidelines

Job Duties

  • Assist residents with meal selection, which may include ordering from menu, buffet/a la carte item selection, and assistance with buffet stations as needed
  • Present menu to residents, answer questions and make suggestions regarding meal choices, record orders and relay to kitchen production area
  • Work efficiently and quickly deliver food to residents, aiding them as needed
  • Clear, clean, and reset tables for next meal service
  • Assist with kitchen duties including salad bar, soup service, portion desserts, brew coffee or other services as needed
  • Assist with clearing tables
  • Observe residents to ensure safety in dining areas
  • Perform other duties as assigned
