The position of Line Cook at McMenamins East 19th is an engaging and integral role within the company’s culinary team, perfect for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, dynamic kitchen environments. The Line Cook is tasked with a wide range of responsibilities that cover every aspect of kitchen operations from opening to closing. This role includes preparing and presenting all hot and cold food items, which span a varied menu including salads, sandwiches, pastas, appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and sautéed and grilled dishes. Attention to detail is crucial, as each dish must be crafted to meet McMenamins’ high standards for both quality and presentation. The position demands both physical endurance and mental agility, requiring the ability to multi-task efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized work area and adhering to safety standards. Line cooks at McMenamins must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, demonstrating flexibility, strong communication skills, and a personal commitment to learning, including staying current with company events, history, and products. Job Requirements

  • obtain and maintain a current food handlers card
  • flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays preferred

Job Duties

  • manufacture and present all hot and cold food products including salads, hot and cold sandwiches, pastas, hot and cold appetizers, pizzas, weekly specials, and sauté and grill items
  • organize and clean work area
  • perform opening and closing kitchen tasks
  • work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • maintain safety standards and report any safety concerns to management
  • stay current on company events, history, and products
  • complete additional duties as assigned by the Manager on Duty
